Santa’s Suit

Quick Answer

A color-changing Christmas sing-along for preschool circle time. Children name the color of Santa’s suit and join in the repeating song as you change his outfit. Try different colors, sing “Oh no, Santa! That’s not right!” and finish with Santa wearing red.

What’s Inside

A 10-page printable PDF with:

  • 11 interchangeable suits: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, teal, brown, black, and white.

  • One separate Santa head with his hat and beard.

  • A mounting page with a coordinating green gingham border.

  • A full-page song poster using “All Day Long.”

  • Two outlined rhyme cards: one “All Day Long” version and one “All Night Long” version.

  • A cover page with setup directions, activity instructions, and Preschool Vibes Standards.

Cutout pieces are arranged two per sheet to save paper.

How to Use

  1. Print at 100% / Actual Size on white US Letter cardstock, using automatic page orientation. Cut out the head and suits, then laminate the pieces and mounting page.

  2. Attach the upper part of Santa’s head to the board with Velcro dots, leaving the beard free. Add matching Velcro dots to the back of each suit and the board.

  3. Keep Santa’s head attached. Slip the top of each suit under his beard and attach one suit directly to the board at a time.

  4. Choose one rhyme card and use its ending consistently for every color. Invite children to name the suit color, sing together, and watch as you change Santa’s outfit. Finish with red.

Why It Works

The repeating song gives children a familiar way to participate while practicing color words, listening, and oral language. Changing Santa’s suit adds an interactive visual that children can name and sing about together.
