Alphabet Drawing Book: Doodle Your Way from A to Z.

Alphabet Drawing Book: Doodle Your Way from A to Z.
Alphabet Drawing Book
Quick Answer
Alphabet Drawing Book combines letter writing and directed drawing as children create their own book from A to Z. Full-page and half-page options include a blank gray letter-writing box and open drawing space, with separate picture guides for each drawing. Complete one letter each week or work at a pace that fits your classroom.
Description
Help children create an alphabet book filled with their own letters, drawings, and details.
Each student page includes a blank gray box for writing the letter, followed by “is for” and the object’s name. Children follow the matching directed drawing guide to create their picture in the open space below.
Model each drawing step on a whiteboard or display the picture guide for children to follow. Give them time to draw, color, add details, and talk about their work.
Choose the full-page or half-page format. Both formats keep the letter-writing box the same printed size, giving children room to practice writing a capital letter. Half-page sheets include two copies of the same page, making it easy to print just the letter you are working on for your class.
Save the completed pages throughout the year and add the student cover to create a personal alphabet book.

How to Use
Choose the full-page or half-page student book format. Print at Actual Size or 100% to keep the gray letter-writing boxes their intended size.
For the half-page version, print the sheet for the letter you are teaching. Each sheet provides two copies of that letter page. Cut along the center line and turn the halves upright.
Introduce the letter and the object on the page. Model writing the capital letter, then invite children to write it in their gray box.
Use the matching drawing guide to model one step at a time. Pause between steps so children have time to follow along. Once the drawing is complete, invite them to color, add details, and share their ideas.
Complete one drawing each week, connect the pages to your letter instruction, or choose individual pages for small groups and drawing activities.
Keep the drawing guides separate so you can reuse them. Collect each child’s completed student pages, use the self-portrait guide to create the cover, and assemble the pages into an alphabet book.
Why It Works
Alphabet Drawing Book connects letters, familiar words, and pictures through a shared drawing experience.
Simple picture steps help children approach a drawing one part at a time. The open drawing space gives them room to make choices and add their own details, while the letter-writing box provides a consistent place to practice writing.
Collecting the pages into a book gives children a way to revisit their work and share it with others.
