FREEBIE Flubber Recipe
FREEBIE Flubber Recipe
Unleash the magic of science in your classroom with this Flubber activity - a favorite among my students year-round. We trade our art supplies for ingredients and embark on a creative journey that aligns with various themes and celebrations. Whether it's spooky orange Flubber with googly eyes for Halloween, heart-beaded pink Flubber for Valentine's Day, or glittering green Flubber for Christmas, the excitement never wanes.
The transformation from liquid to slime, triggered by the addition of the Borax mixture, is a spectacle in itself. The water needed can be comfortably warm from your tap or heated briefly in the microwave; caution is advised as students will interact with the mixture almost immediately.
Do remember, flubber finds its way onto clothes and carpets, so we recommend creating over easy-to-clean surfaces and wearing smocks or old clothes. And while the students can take home a portion of their Flubber creation, remind them to play with it at a table to avoid messes. If Flubber does meet fabric, vinegar is your ally in clean-up.
One batch goes a long way! A group of 4-5 students can make a recipe together and each participant gets to take home a baggy of Flubber. I provide attached recipe cards to ensure parents can recreate the fun at home.
For printing convenience, the package includes a vibrantly colored graphic as well as a black and white version. Embark on this fun-filled, educational journey and watch the wonder unfold!
