Description

Mystery Glow Search turns simple skill review into an exciting, hands-on classroom activity.

Write letters, numbers, shapes, sight words, names, themed vocabulary, or other review items on the cards using an invisible ink pen. Then hang the cards around the room, turn off the lights, and let children use black light pens to search for each mystery item.

As children find each card, they can say the item out loud and use the matching recording page to circle or mark what they found. The same card set can be reused throughout the year with different skills, making this a flexible activity for literacy, math, name practice, vocabulary review, or themed learning.

How to Use

Write letters, numbers, shapes, sight words, names, vocabulary words, or other review items on the cards using an invisible ink pen.

Hang the cards around the room.

Turn off the lights or dim the room.

Give children black light pens and let them search for the mystery items.

As students find each item, have them say it out loud and circle or mark it on the matching recording page.

You can use this activity for letters, numbers, shapes, custom review, themed vocabulary, name recognition, or other classroom skills.

Prep Tip

Print the cards and recording pages you want to use. If you want to reuse the cards throughout the year, laminate them before writing with invisible ink.

You will need invisible ink pens or black light pens to use the glow search activity. Physical materials such as pens, lights, or classroom setup supplies are not included.
