Mastering Parent-Teacher Conferences with Essential Tips and Tools

Parent-teacher conferences are a chance to share a child’s progress, hear from their family, and agree on what to work on next. A few specific examples and clear goals can make the conversation more useful for everyone.

Gather examples before the meeting

Review recent assessment results, work samples, and classroom observations. Include more than academic skills—independence, participation, friendships, and classroom routines are also important parts of a child’s preschool experience.

Prepare a few brief notes so you can spend the meeting talking with the family instead of searching through paperwork.

Start with specific strengths
