For this activity, you'll need the following books: "The Gingerbread Man" by Jim Aylesworth, and "The Gingerbread Man" by Karen Schmidt. These familiar tales offer rich content for comparison and contrast, all while holding the students' interest.

The heart of the activity lies in our unique Venn Diagram, created using two large hula hoops. After reading both stories, we use the provided cards to represent elements from each story. The students then physically place the cards in the appropriate section of the Venn Diagram - either representing similarities (overlap area) or differences (individual areas of each hoop).
