Use for students to send home to a family member, or as a whole-group SEL activity where the class helps create a love letter for each student
This pairs naturally with The Love Letter by Anika Aldamuy Denise, illustrated by Lucy Ruth Cummins, and supports conversations about kind words and how they make others feel.
Why It Works
This activity builds fine motor skills through coloring, cutting, folding, and gluing while also supporting SEL and classroom community. It’s simple to prep, meaningful to send home, and works especially well leading up to Valentine’s Day.
