Letter Hunt | Capital and Lowercase Alphabet Matching

Give children a letter to look for and a place to bring their discoveries. In Letter Hunt, children search for matching letter cards around the room and return them to their mat. Four collection spaces give them a clear goal and show when their hunt is complete.

Each mat includes a large capital and lowercase letter pair, plus a small mnemonic picture cue. Children can return to the mat to compare letter shapes as they search.

Start with four matching capital cards in easy-to-see places. When children are ready, use four lowercase cards or a mix of both forms. Choose four matching cards per hunt so every discovery has a space.

Use it for a small-group activity, a literacy center, or a short movement activity. Children practice letter recognition, visual matching, and following directions while they look, collect, and compare.

Print at Actual Size, cut the cards, and laminate for repeated use.
