Description
Punch & Learn gives children a simple, engaging way to practice fine motor control while using a classroom tool they love.
Each strip includes pre-marked circle targets for students to line up and punch across the strip. The activity is structured enough to keep children focused, but simple enough to run independently in a center once students understand how to use the hole punch safely and correctly.
The strips are black-and-white, making them easy to print on white or colored paper. With two format options included, you can choose the version that works best for your prep style, center setup, or student needs.
Whatβs Inside
This resource includes:
26 printable strips
1 version with 5 letters per page
1 version with 1 letter per page
20 pre-marked circle targets on each strip
A themed graphic at the top of each strip
Black-and-white designs that print cleanly on white or colored paper
How to Use
Print the strips and cut them apart.
Place the strips in a bin with child-friendly hole punches.
Students line up the hole punch with each circle target and punch across the strip.
Use the strips during fine motor centers, morning tubs, small group practice, arrival activities, or independent table work.
Prep Tip
Print on regular paper or cardstock, then cut the pages into strips. Place the strips in a small bin or tray with child-friendly hole punches so the activity is ready for students to use independently.
For best results, use the recommended Bostitch hole punch so the spacing and depth of the circle targets align well with the tool.
Why It Works
Punch & Learn keeps fine motor practice structured, focused, and easy to manage in a preschool classroom.
The circle targets are intentionally spaced and sized to work with the recommended Bostitch hole punch, allowing the tool to sit directly over each target for cleaner, more centered punches.
