Quick Answer

Following Directions Homework gives families a movement game to play during three short playtimes. Children follow two actions in order, then take a turn giving directions. Ready-to-use examples, one-step support, and an optional third step let families adjust the game to their child. No equipment is needed.

What’s Inside

This 3-page PDF includes:

  • A teacher cover page with directions and Preschool Vibes Standards.

  • A keep-at-home family page with illustrated directions, two-step examples, an optional three-step challenge, a turn for the child to lead, a “Did You Know?” paragraph, and three playtime checkboxes.

  • A family signature version with the same activity, plus space for the child’s name, date, and family signature.

How to Use

Send home the version that fits your classroom. Families say both directions before the child begins, such as “Clap your hands, then touch your head.” Give the child time to try the actions in order, then switch roles so the child can lead.

Use one step if needed, or add a third when the child is ready. Check one box after each playtime.

The keep-at-home page says, “Keep this page at home and continue practicing. It does not need to be returned.” The signature version asks families to sign and return it after three playtimes.

Preschool Vibes Standards

  • 3F. We can follow one- and two-step directions (and more when ready).

  • 1C. We can pay attention and use self-control with support (wait, stop, start, safe body).
