Pattern Homework
Pattern Homework
Quick Answer
Pattern Homework gives families simple ways to explore AB patterns during three short playtimes. Children begin by copying a pattern, then extend it or make their own when ready. Use household objects or movements to practice noticing and repeating the same pair.
What’s Inside
This 3-page PDF includes:
A teacher cover page with directions and the Preschool Vibes Standard.
A keep-at-home family page with an illustrated spoon-and-cup pattern, directions for copying, extending, and creating patterns, a movement option, a “Did You Know?” paragraph, and three playtime checkboxes.
A family signature version with the same activity, plus space for the child’s name, date, and family signature.
How to Use
Send home the version that fits your classroom. Families make a short pattern, such as spoon, cup, spoon, cup, and say it together. Children can copy the pattern, keep it going, or choose two kinds of objects to make their own. They can also try clap, tap knees, clap, tap knees.
Families can keep practicing the same activity as long as needed. Check one box after each playtime; children do not need to complete all three activities.
The keep-at-home page says, “Keep this page at home and continue practicing. It does not need to be returned.” The signature version asks families to sign and return it after three playtimes.
