Meet the Colors
Meet the Colors
Quick Answer
Meet the Colors is a teacher-held color introduction resource designed to help children recognize, name, describe, and connect colors to the world around them. Each color includes a student-facing visual page and a teacher prompt page to support color recognition, color vocabulary, real-world connections, and simple discussion.
Description
Meet the Colors gives you a simple, consistent way to introduce common colors through clear visuals, familiar objects, and easy teacher prompts.
Each color includes a bold student visual page and a matching prompt page to guide quick, meaningful instruction. Students are not just naming colors. They are noticing the color, connecting it to familiar objects, looking for it in the classroom, and using language to describe what they see.
This resource also includes rainbow and color mixing pages to help children see how colors can work together, appear in order, and create new colors.
Meet the Colors works well for color introductions, color review, large group lessons, small group instruction, morning meeting, classroom displays, or early learning practice.

How to Use
Use these pages during large group or small group instruction to introduce each color. Show the student visual page first so students can see the color word, look at the paint splat, and name the objects on the page.
Then use the teacher prompt page to guide simple, engaging color practice. Students can notice the color, talk about the objects, look for the color in the classroom, check their clothing, and connect the color to things they see in everyday life.
Use the rainbow and color mixing pages to extend the conversation once students are familiar with individual colors. These pages work well for color review, science connections, art activities, or simple observation-based discussions.
Display both pages together or print them back to back. You can use the full prompt page for a complete color introduction or choose one or two sections for a quick review.
