Color Hunt Homework
Color Hunt Homework
Quick Answer
Color Hunt Homework helps families practice recognizing and naming colors during three short playtimes. Children choose a color, spot it on everyday things, and name what they find. Eleven labeled color circles provide a reference.
What’s Inside
This 3-page PDF includes:
A teacher cover page with directions, printing tips, and Preschool Vibes Standards.
A keep-at-home family page with eleven labeled colors, three activity steps, a “Did You Know?” paragraph about learning color words, and three playtime checkboxes.
A second family page with the same activity and a tear-off return slip for the child’s name, date, and family signature.
Colors included: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black, gray, and white.
How to Use
Send home the version that fits your classroom. Circle a color to match a child’s learning goal, or let families choose one for each playtime. They can repeat the same color; finding all eleven is not required.
Families take turns spotting the color on toys, clothes, furniture, or pictures. Children can point to what they find and name the color with an adult. Objects stay where they are. Lighter and darker shades can share a color name, so an exact match to the printed circle is not required.
Check one box after each playtime. The keep-at-home page does not need to be returned. With the return-slip version, families sign, cut off, and return only the bottom slip after three playtimes. They keep the activity and “Did You Know?” information for continued practice.
