Lunch Homework
Lunch Homework
Quick Answer
A child who can unzip a lunch bag might still need a hand peeling the seal off a snack cup. Snack and Lunch Homework gives children five chances to practice with the containers, wrappers, and drink bottles they use at school. Four pictures guide families from opening the lunch bag to packing everything away after eating.
What’s Inside
A three-page PDF sized for US Letter paper (8.5 × 11 inches)
A teacher guide with a classroom example and Preschool Vibes Standards
A family handout to keep at home, with a tip for packing tricky wrappers
A second version with space for the child’s name, date, and family signature
Four illustrated steps and five practice checkboxes on both family handouts
How to Use
At snack time, show children how to steady a container with one hand and lift the lid with the other. Send home page 2 for families to keep, or choose page 3 if you’d like a signed copy back. Families pack a snack or lunch as they would for school, give their child the first try at opening and closing each item, and check one box after each practice.
